Sam - 18

"We've been cleared to start our approach. Medical will be waiting on the ground." Max said as they traded the black waters of the Atlantic for the dense foliage of upstate New York.

Avery moaned as Sam tightened the makeshift sling that held her arm against her chest to try and help from hurting herself more.

"Almost all of us are injured. How are we going to get Steve out? He's not exactly light." Bucky asked, trying to distract himself from the pain in his leg that was greater than he'd like to admit. It was quite lucky Steve was unconscious so as to not try and defend himself.

"I don't know, we'll figure something out," Sam said, leaning back the adrenaline wearing off and the aches and pains coming in full force.

"My wings. Get me my wings." Avery said sitting up. Sam gave her a dubious look but handed her a set. Shifting so she was facing away from the others Avery activated the wings. They shot out from the pack she was holding.

"What are you doing?" Bucky beat Sam to asking.

"Making a stretcher," Avery said, locking the wings into a flat plain.

"That's not going to be much help if we can't lift him, to begin with." Sam pointed out.

"Such doubt. Roll him on." Avery put the stretcher next to Steve. Sam shook his head but did as he was told. Once Steve was laying flat on his back on top of the makeshift stretcher Avery flipped a switch in the pack and the whole thing floated up a few feet to levitate off the ground.

"That should take care of that problem," Avery said with a grin leaning back.

Sam just chuckled strapping Steve securely in, "Always full of surprises."

They landed with a small jolt. Sam looked over at Bucky, "You sure about this?"

"It's a little late to back out now," Bucky muttered, pulling himself up.

"That wasn't exactly an answer." Max pointed out grabbing Bucky's gear before the soldier could.

"It wasn't supposed to be," Bucky mumbled.

"Well, that's reassuring." Avery quipped letting Sam pull her up. Sam hit the hatch open before supporting Avery's weight.

"So we're going on the trust blondie has in this guy? Wonderful." Max muttered as the ramp came down. The medics were rushing across the airfield.

"You don't trust Stark?" Avery asked, grabbing the stretcher.

Max huffed, "If you ask me, the guy's emotionally compromised and a loose cannon, but hey! Let's just show up with the guy he absolutely can't stand and put ourselves at his mercy, great plan."
